Oshwal Academy Nairobi is a co-educational international day school for ages 2 to 18, delivering a British curriculum through Cambridge and Pearson examining bodies. The four semi-autonomous campuses: Nursery, Primary, Junior High and Senior High provide a continuous learning path from EYFS in Playgroup to Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel IGCSE, then Cambridge International AS and A Levels, plus BTEC qualifications. The school traces its roots to the Oshwal Education & Relief Board, established during World War II to unite Oshwals across Kenya. The campus combines modern classrooms with interactive whiteboards, science labs, a library, ICT suites, a multipurpose hall and sports facilities, including a swimming pool and an arena for ball games. A co-curricular program runs after class, featuring music, drama, coding, sports and debates. The framework focuses on preventing learning difficulties and delivering timely interventions through structured support systems.
English Language is a compulsory subject under the IGCSE program; students study English Language as part of the core curriculum. In Senior High, English Language is offered under Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level (IAL) and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) as a subject.
A school counselor may be approached by students seeking voluntary help with alcohol or other drug-related problems, with communications treated with strict confidence. The Substance Abuse Prevention Policy provides for psychoactive substance testing when reasonably suspected, with procedures for parental notification and consent, and for medical testing at a reputable facility as needed. The policy also supports ongoing education programs on substance abuse and offers rehabilitation or counseling referrals as appropriate.
Oshwal Academy Nairobi has a Child Protection Policy and a comprehensive Child Protection Manual to guide staff, volunteers, students, and families in matters related to the safety and care of children. All staff and volunteers must produce a certificate of good conduct and/or police clearance and are subject to background checks. Staff are required to report suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect following established procedures. The curriculum includes developmentally appropriate lessons related to child protection, and the community is continually trained and kept aware of safeguarding guidelines.
Most learners join Oshwal Academy Nairobi in September when the academic year begins; however, new pupils may be admitted at times other than September depending on circumstances and space.
