The Connecticut IB Academy (CIBA) is a public interdistrict magnet high school in East Hartford that provides a specialized educational environment for students in grades 9 through 12. Every student at the school participates in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme for two years followed by the Diploma Programme for their final two years. The campus is physically linked to East Hartford High School by a pedestrian bridge, a unique structural feature that allows CIBA students to access a wider range of athletic teams and performing arts programs while maintaining a small-school atmosphere.
The curriculum includes mandatory language acquisition in either Spanish or Chinese and a dedicated focus on the IB core, including the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) projects.
