What the tuition fees include

Other costs and optional extras

- Optional extras are billed separately: uniform, wraparound care (before and after school), after-school clubs, school bus service, residential trips and certain optional activities. After-School Care is provided until 18:00 and is charged separately to tuition.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Fees are billed and payable termly, strictly in advance, and must be paid as cleared funds before the start of the term to which they relate. The first term's fees for September entry are due in full by the end of the Spring Term preceding that September entry. A full term's written notice, or fees in lieu, is required if a pupil is withdrawn; notice must expire at the end of a term. Late payment may incur an additional charge (GBP 100) and interest.

Payment methods and options

- Available payment methods include the school's direct debit arrangement and the school's international payment platform. Tax-Free Childcare is accepted for nursery fee payments. The school may refuse a payment if it is not satisfied as to the identity of the payer or the source of funds. Agreements with third parties to pay fees do not release parents from liability.

Refunds and cancellations

- The registration fee is non‑returnable. Uniform Requirement

Full regulation uniform is required for all pupils; the uniform supplier is Perry and uniform requirements are provided by Perry Uniform. Nursery wear navy regulation tracksuits in winter and regulation shorts and T-shirts in summer, and blazers are worn to school every day.

The Fair Banding Test is a non-verbal reasoning paper, with test dates on 12 November 2025 and 26 November 2025. Those who sit the test are prioritised based on banding results; those who do not sit the test are prioritised after those who sat. National Offer Day is 2 March 2026.

Waitlist

2) Waiting list for Year 7: The Academy maintains a waiting list in all ability bands for the Year 7 cohort when applications exceed places. The waiting list is managed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich admissions team until 31 August, after which transfer to the Academy occurs on 1 September. Applicants on the waiting list undertake the fair banding test, and lists are ranked in line with the oversubscription criteria; a place is offered to the next eligible applicant in the appropriate band when available. Tuition fees by year group (per term / per year)

- Ashcroft Technology Academy is a state-funded academy and does not charge tuition fees for any year group. There are no per-term or per-year tuition charges for Years 7–11 or for Sixth Form (Years 12–13). All statutory taught education is provided without tuition cost.

Billing schedule and payment terms (for chargeable items)

- Music tuition: Fees are charged for optional per‑instrument music lessons where parents agree to tuition that is not an integral part of the curriculum. A remission (discount) policy can apply for eligible families.

- Residential trips and visits: Costs for trips that take place mainly outside Academy hours, and the board, lodgings and travel elements of residential trips, are chargeable. Voluntary contributions are invited for some day trips; no student will be excluded from a curriculum trip for inability to pay, but residential/trip costs where charging is permitted will be billed. The Academy may publish estimated costs and offer instalment payments.

- Examination and accreditation fees: Charges may apply where a parent requests accreditation outside the Academy's normal provision, for alternative forms of accreditation, or where a student is entered for an external examination and then fails to attend without good reason. Certain examination fees may be returnable in specified circumstances.

- Materials and practical subject contributions: Where a student chooses to own a finished practical product (e.g., in art, design or food subjects), the cost of materials may be requested.

- Replacement or repair costs: Charges may be made for replacement of defaced, damaged or broken Academy property, fixtures, fittings or equipment caused by a student's inappropriate behaviour. Charges may also be raised for lost or damaged learning resources, text or exercise books.

- Uniform and kit: Branded blazers, ties and specified sports kit are available from the Academy uniform shop and carry prices. Remissions and financial support

Refund information

Mental Wellbeing

The CPSE programme includes a focus on mental and emotional well-being. It also emphasises oracy and debate to develop confidence and communication. The Social Curriculum supports well-being by providing tutor-time and assemblies focused on applying CPSE learning and developing resilience. Safeguarding

The Academy adopts a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, harassment and bullying. Admissions

Specialist Places: Up to 24 places are offered to applicants with high aptitude for technology who sit a separate technology aptitude test; the test is optional and not applicable to in-year admissions; a supplementary application form is required. General Places: All Year 7 applicants (except those with an EHCP) are allocated to one of five bands based on the score from the Wandsworth Year 6 Non-Verbal Reasoning Test, which is mandatory for applicants. After the EHCP and Specialist places are allocated, remaining places are offered according to oversubscription criteria: looked-after or previously looked-after status; a sibling on roll at the Academy at the time of application; a parent employed by the Academy for a minimum of two years; and distance from home (nearest first). Age requirement: applicants must reach age 11 during the period 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027, inclusive. Background: the intake should reflect the full range of ability and the social, economic and cultural character of the area. Appeal Arrangements: applicants refused a place may appeal to an independent admission appeal panel. Waiting list: based on the 2025 intake, 1116 applications were received for 240 places, with 17 appeals heard and 0 successful appeals. Unsuccessful applicants remain on a banded waiting list until 30 September 2026; from 1 October, unsuccessful applicants are retained on the waiting list by distance from the Academy until the end of the academic year (unless a place is subsequently offered). It is not possible to arrange visits outside scheduled Open Evening/Morning sessions.

Scholarships

Sixth Form Scholarships: Each autumn, sixth form students are invited to apply for a scholarship worth £500 to enhance their academic studies. Applications are submitted as a written form (no more than one side of A4) detailing the scholarship purpose, expected outcomes and how the funds will be used, along with supporting information such as the applicant's name, previous school, area of study, and rationale for the award. Shortlisted students present to a Scholarship Selection panel for about 10 minutes. The maximum award is £500, and not all applications will receive funding. Examples of previously funded scholarships span areas such as arts, science and higher education pursuits.

Waitlist

Unsuccessful applicants are first placed on a banded waiting list. The waiting list is valid until 30 September 2026. Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Our Learning Support Department provides a warm, nurturing environment for pupils with SEND and for those with English as an Additional Language (EAL) to achieve their full potential. All teachers differentiate within the classroom, aided by small class sizes that help focus on the individual. Specialist teachers provide extra support for literacy, numeracy, study, organisational, and social skills. The SENDCO coordinates identification of needs through screening tests, educational psychologist reports, and liaison with staff and parents, and coordinates bespoke 1:1 or small-group support when needed. The SENDCO oversees exam access arrangements to ensure appropriate concessions where required.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

English as an Additional Language (EAL) provision is policy-driven and tailored. The school identifies and assesses language needs early and places pupils appropriately to enable access to the curriculum. EAL aims include helping pupils use English confidently, develop academic language, and value multilingualism. The approach includes baseline assessments, targeted interventions, and ongoing monitoring of progress. For pupils with significant language development needs, Individual Support Plans may be written in collaboration with families.

Mental Wellbeing

Place2Be mental health support is part of Knightsbridge School's wellbeing framework. A Place2Be Mental Health Practitioner is part of the staff. On-site Place2Be counseling is described as part of the wellbeing provision. The school emphasizes that pupils learn best when they feel safe, happy, and belonging, and the wellbeing program includes mindfulness initiatives.

Safeguarding

Step 1. Visiting and enquiry. Visiting Knightsbridge School is the typical starting point for the admissions journey. The admissions team can assist with inquiries by phone or email. The visit helps families experience the school's environment and understand its approach to learning.

Step 2. Interviews and assessments. Entry is determined through an informal interview with the child and parents at the appropriate level. For prospective pupils entering Year 1 and above, a taster day within the relevant year group and an in-person assessment are arranged, together with a reference from the pupil's current school. Quest is used for assessments. This process assesses readiness and fit for the next phase.

Step 3. Entry points and international admissions. Official entry points are Reception (4+), Year 7 (11+), and Year 9 (13+); enquiries for other year groups are welcome subject to availability. For overseas applicants, there is a dedicated international admissions process.

Step 4. Registration and fees. A child's name is placed on the applicant list after completing and returning a registration form to the Admissions Office, accompanied by a non-refundable registration fee of £240. Admission is subject to the availability of a place and the pupil meeting entrance requirements. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Step 5. Dukes Education and guaranteed entry. Knightsbridge School is part of the Dukes Education family. It offers guaranteed entry at key entry points—Nursery, Reception and Year 7—subject to space and the pupil's ability to thrive within the school's ethos and curriculum. Bursaries – The KSEF: Knightsbridge School offers bursaries to up to two Year 7 entrants per year, which can be valued up to 100%, funded through the Knightsbridge School Education Foundation (KSEF). - Years 12–13 (Sixth Form / Woolf College): There are no tuition fees for students enrolled in the Academy's post‑16 study programmes. - Remissions and exemptions: Where a parent/carer is in receipt of qualifying benefits, the Academy will remit in full the cost of board and lodging for residential activities that take place during academy time, and may provide discretionary remissions in other hardship cases on application. - Refunds for optional activities: The Academy handles refunds in line with the Charging and Remissions Policy and the arrangements stated for each activity. Admissions

1. Apply through the home Local Authority under the Coordinated Planned Admissions scheme. The Local Authority coordinates the application process on Leigh Stationers' Academy's behalf according to the scheme published in the annual admissions booklet. Applicants should follow the Local Authority's published steps and deadlines to secure a Year 7 place. The Academy participates in the Local Authority admissions process to determine intake.

2. Year 7 intake and banding. There are 270 Year 7 places available for September 2026. All applicants are required to sit a fair banding test, including siblings of pupils already attending the academy. Applicants are divided into five bands based on test results, and admission criteria are applied within each band to ensure a comprehensive intake across the full ability range. It is not possible to pass or fail the test, but those not sitting the test at all will be prioritised after those who have sat.

3. Key dates. National Offer Day occurs in early March. National Offer Day is listed as Monday 2 March 2025, with emails sent after that date. A separate entry notes Monday 3 March 2025 as an additional offer date (emails sent after). Applicants should monitor correspondence via the Local Authority during the offer round.

4. Sixth Form admissions. There are up to 200 places available in Woolf Sixth Form for September. The admissions criteria for the Academy, including Sixth Form, are set out in the published Admissions Policy. In July 2026, a Taster Event is planned for prospective Year 12 students. Applications submitted after the February 20, 2026 deadline will still be processed, but students may be placed on a waiting list if courses are oversubscribed.

5. In-Year Admissions. In-year applications should be made directly to Leigh Stationers' Academy. The process for children admitted via the Fair Access Panel is in line with Greenwich Local Authority's published arrangements.

6. Appeals. If a place is not offered, applicants have the right to appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel.

Scholarships

16-19 Financial Support for Sixth Form. The 16-19 Bursary Fund includes Vulnerable and Discretionary Bursaries. A bursary can pay up to £1,200 per year for a student on a 30-week study programme to help with travel, books, equipment or specialist clothing. Discretionary bursaries are awarded to help students overcome individual barriers to participation, and the Academy decides which students receive bursaries and how much. Eligibility criteria for discretionary bursaries include household income below £25,000, travel distance over 10 miles, specialist requirements, or having an EHCP. Items that can be claimed include clothing, books and other equipment, transport and lunch on study days, UCAS fees and university visits/trips.
