Billing schedule and payment terms
- Tuition is billed as monthly pensions; the standard billing cadence for private schools in the region is ten (10) monthly payments across the academic year (commonly March through December). Discounts and due‑date rules described by the school apply to these monthly payments.
- Monthly-payment discount: a monthly-payment discount is applied only to payments received by the 25th of each month (if the 25th falls on a weekend/holiday, payment must be made the preceding business day to qualify).
- Early full‑year payment discount: a 5% discount on the total annual pension is available for families who pay the full year in advance by March 31; a 3% discount applies for advance payments made after that date.
- Sibling discount (Primaria and Secundaria): 5% for the second child, 10% for the third child and 15% for the fourth child (applies to tuition for those levels).
- Seat reservation: a seat‑reservation payment is required at acceptance (amount and deadline are communicated during admissions). Administrative-application and seat-reservation payments must be made to complete enrollment.
Mandatory insurance and related fees
- Plan Educación Segura (mandatory): USD 222.91 per student per year; for convenience this can be divided into nine installments of USD 24.76. This plan covers the student's tuition in the event of the insured representative's (parent/guardian) death, up to graduation (some final‑year exceptions apply).
- Personal accident insurance (AIG/Metropolitana): total premium per student USD 60.85 (this amount is invoiced in May). Deductible for medical expenses from accidents: USD 30.00.
Boarding (residency) fees
- Boarding: not applicable. The school operates as a day school offering Preschool, Primary and Secondary instruction; there is no boarding/residential program listed.
Other costs and recurring charges
- Additional charges commonly billed separately (amounts vary and are charged per student or per family) include: school uniforms, textbooks and complementary learning materials, activity or laboratory fees, ID cards and digital‑platform access, transportation (school bus) and school cafeteria/meal plans. Specific items and amounts are invoiced or communicated at enrollment and at the start of the academic year.
Refunds and non‑refundable items
- Application/administrative fees and registration (matrícula) payments are treated as enrollment charges; the school communicates its conditions for reservation, late enrollment surcharges and any applicable refund exceptions during the admissions process. Parents are expected to meet payment deadlines to avoid late fees or restrictions on student services.
Payment channels and contact points for financial transactions
- Payment instructions and accepted channels are provided directly by the school's Finance/Admissions office at the time of application and acceptance. The school provides a finance contact and a WhatsApp number for collections; parents receive specific instructions (bank account numbers, deadlines, and any available point‑of‑sale or online payment options) in the admissions/finance correspondence.
Key numbers for finance and admissions
- Admissions email and contact used for payment instructions and enrollment guidance: infoadmisiones@colegioamericano.edu.ec and WhatsApp admissions/collections lines listed by the school. Use these finance contacts for payment schedules, invoices and formal receipts.
Note: all monetary figures above are quoted in USD and are the published tuition, matrícula and mandatory insurance amounts in the school's costs circular and admissions notices for the upcoming academic cycle. The school publishes promotional matrícula discounts and specific payment deadlines that must be met to receive those discounts; families will receive the precise payment schedule and available payment channels during the admissions and billing process.
