English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Sant'Anna International School runs an English-focused international program with explicit language supports. Early Childhood Education is 100% bilingual with English immersion from the earliest years. In Elementary School, classes are conducted in English (60%) and Portuguese (40%), with an English Language Learners (ELL) program and a Portuguese Language Learning (PLL) program for international students not fluent in Portuguese. In Middle School, classes are taught in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, with ELL and PLL. In High School, language support continues via the K12 International Academy and PLL; students graduate with a Brazilian and an International Diploma.

Mental Wellbeing

Mental wellbeing is supported through the Socioemotional Program embedded in the curriculum, which promotes emotional recognition, self-awareness, resilience, empathy, and healthy relationships. Advisory and tutoring arrangements provide structured emotional and social guidance, and the House Program fosters peer mentoring, belonging, and responsible leadership. The School Counseling Team offers professional wellbeing support and counseling when needed.
