Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) is a private, fully accredited, non‑profit international school in Dar es Salaam serving Kindergarten through Grade 12. The British Cambridge curriculum guides learning from Kindergarten through IGCSE and A Levels, with the Primary Programme for early years and Cambridge syllabi guiding IGCSE/AS/A Level courses. Classes are taught by licensed, English teachers, and the school incorporates a Christian perspective. The twelve-acre campus overlooks the Indian Ocean and includes a learning resource center and a dedicated performing arts building. Facilities include a football pitch, two basketball courts, two youth pitches, a 25-metre pool and a 200-metre track. HOPAC emphasises service learning, with weekly programs, partnerships with seven schools and a Service Emphasis Week. Swahili and French are taught alongside English. Haven of Peace Academy teaches British Curriculum, Cambridge (Primary), Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels, Cambridge A Levels.
Cambridge International Programme guides the curriculum from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The primary curriculum follows the Cambridge Primary Programme; the middle years focus on mathematics, English and science; for IGCSE and A Level courses the Cambridge syllabus is followed closely. Classes are taught by licensed, native English-speaking teachers.
Senior school students sit for IGCSE and A Level exams. An overview tracks student achievement for those earning A-C.
Graduates pursue higher education worldwide. The majority study in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, with students also going to other countries. Notable destinations include Oxford University, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Step 1 — HOPAC Online Application and entry categories. Complete the HOPAC Online Application. Entry to Kindergarten, Grade 6 and Grade 11 is handled differently. Applications are closed until December 1, 2026. Step 2 — Assessments and interviews. All applicants for Kindergarten and Grade 6 with completed applications are invited to assessment and interview. Applicants meeting minimum requirements for entry into A Levels (Grade 11) are invited for assessment and interview. Assessments and interviews are conducted between March and April. Step 3 — Space availability and preferences. For other grades, testing and interviews are contingent on space; if there is space, initial testing and interviews for those grades will be conducted in May. All applicants for those grades will be contacted only if space is available. Preference is given to applicants who have a sibling at HOPAC or who have had a sibling study at the school previously, and to children of missionaries serving in Tanzania.
