Engelska Skolan Norr is a two-campus independent school in Stockholm's Östermalm, serving ages 6 to 18. It follows the Swedish national curriculum with a bilingual program in which roughly half of all lessons are taught in English. The ninth grade can prepare for and graduate with Cambridge English qualifications, and Cambridge IGCSE offers additional external options. Established in 1993 as Sweden's first independent school to follow the national curriculum while delivering in-depth English language education, ESN Norr joined the Atvexa group in 2013. The Roslagstullsbacken and Alba Nova campuses accommodate about 540 pupils, with each student receiving a Chromebook and access to a library of over 9,000 books. A Vetenskapens Hus partnership provides university-level science, mathematics and technology activities. In 2024–25 ESN Norr became a Cambridge Associate School and operates an IGCSE examination centre for external candidates; from 2025, ESL, Maths and English Literature IGCSE courses are available. Approximately 95% progress to university follows Cambridge qualifications.

Up the hill, two K-marked buildings in the Alba Nova Science Center area host about 200 students in grades 6-9. The school is easily reachable by Stockholm's commuter systems.

External candidates also achieved a 100% pass rate. From 2025, IGCSE courses in ESL, Mathematics, and English Literature will be offered, and the school serves as an examination centre for external candidates. Cambridge qualifications are recognised by leading universities, and 95% of students who complete Cambridge qualifications progress directly to university.

1. The school accepts online applications during the regular application period. A digital application is submitted at skola.admentum.se, and Engelska Skolan Norr must be selected on the City of Stockholm's grundskola page. The regular application period runs from January 15 to February 12. A child can be placed in the queue once they have a Swedish social security number.
2. Selection and admission criteria determine who receives a place when spaces are available. Sibling priority is applied. Children already enrolled in ESN preschools receive consideration, and queue time and proximity to the school are also taken into account. These criteria ensure alignment between available space and applicant needs.
3. Custodians are notified of a placement on March 25 and must confirm any offered place by April 7 via Stockholm's school choice. After confirmation, a welcome letter is sent. The process completes the admission for the offered place.
4. An offer of placement is based on queue time and space availability. The allocation also depends on the current queue length and capacity.
Waitlist operates as a queue for spaces at Engelska Skolan Norr. A child can be placed in the queue as soon as they have a Swedish social security number. The queue can hold a place up to four terms before the planned start. Offers are made based on queue time and space availability, and custodians are notified when a place becomes available.
