Introduction

Middleton International School – West Coast Campus is part of the EtonHouse International Education Group and sits at 20 Harbour Drive, Singapore 117612. The campus, Middleton's newest site opened in February 2022 (subject to regulatory approvals), has capacity for 500 students and offers classes from Nursery 2 to Grade 5. It follows a Cambridge-based pathway and the International Primary Curriculum in the primary years. Early years use a Reggio-inspired Inquiry.Think.Learn approach for Nursery 2 to Kindergarten 2. Middleton launched the Intensive English Programme (MIEP) at the West Coast campus to support non-native English learners in Grades 4 to 7 before joining the mainstream curriculum. Across Middleton schools, Cambridge guides secondary and high school study, with Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge A-Levels available. The campus emphasizes wellbeing through a structured mindfulness programme, an English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme, Additional Languages, and student leadership via a Student Council for students today.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Mindfulness Programme integrates social and emotional learning into our curriculum. Middleton is The Contentment Foundation's Mothership School in Southeast Asia, advancing mindfulness pedagogy across the school community. The Four Pillars of Wellbeing are Mindfulness, Community, Self-Curiosity, and Contentment & Balance, forming a whole‑school programme to cultivate long‑term well‑being and a safe, supportive climate. The programme helps learners manage emotions, handle conflicts mindfully, and develop attention and resilience. Key benefits include reduced student anxiety and aggressive behaviours, improved mental and physical health, enhanced attention and academic performance, and a more positive classroom climate.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Learning Support helps ensure the academic, behavioural and social well‑being of students. Pastoral Counselling provides emotional support to help students cope with new environments and course demands, and supports a culture of care in partnership with parents. The school runs school‑wide behaviour and leadership programmes and offers intervention strategies for students and teachers, with progress monitored and, where needed, collaboration with parents and external agencies. The design includes safeguarding and child protection as part of the overall support framework, and there is close collaboration with parents to support each student's development.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

English as an Additional Language (EAL) support helps non‑native speakers access Middleton's programmes. Learners are identified at admission or during the first weeks and sit for a paid assessment to determine the level of EAL support needed. EAL is offered in standard (approximately $2,794 per year) or intensive (approximately $5,028 per year) formats, in small groups, with four sessions of 30 minutes (early years) or 45 minutes (primary/secondary). The Middleton Intensive English Programme (MIEP) at the Tampines campus provides additional support for students aged 10 to 13 to reach English proficiency. Progress is tracked through ongoing observations and assessments; graduates exit EAL once minimum English standards are met, and by Grade 6 all learners are expected to meet a minimum English proficiency to access the Secondary and High School programme.

Mental Wellbeing

Mindfulness supports mental wellbeing through The Four Pillars of Wellbeing: Mindfulness, Community, Self-Curiosity, and Contentment & Balance. Middleton partners with The Contentment Foundation to promote a safe, loving, and healthy school climate and to equip students with strategies for emotional regulation, resilience and empathy. The programme emphasizes mental and emotional health alongside academic learning and includes wellbeing resources and stories from educators and students.

Safeguarding

Middleton has a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy to protect and safeguard children, with a designated Person for Child Protection, staff training, and safe recruitment procedures. Responsibilities include identifying concerns, coordinating action, maintaining confidential records, and reporting to relevant authorities when necessary. The policy foresees inter‑agency cooperation, details safeguarding responsibilities for all staff, and provides guidance on incident handling, disclosure, and escalation. Additional safeguarding information and procedures are outlined in the school's safeguarding documentation and related resources.

Admissions

Admissions

Applying at Middleton International School can be completed in 3 easy steps. Enrolments are open all year round, depending on availability. Before proceeding with an application it is essential to check with the school first if there are vacancies before submitting your payment. Application Submission: Complete the Registration Form. Submit the supporting documents: both parents' identification documents (SG ID card or passport if SG ID is not available); the child's passport and SG identification documents; the child's latest school report (in English); vaccination records or HPB certificate (Measles and Diphtheria are compulsory for children aged 12 and below); passport photos of the child and both parents. Pay the administration fee of $654 including 9% GST by bank transfer, or cheque – payment methods include PayNow, Credit Cards, and Wire Transfer. The administration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable and doesn't guarantee a place at the school. Application Review: All applications will be reviewed by the Academic Board to ensure that each child will have the ability to effectively access the curriculum. During the review process, the Academic Board may request a student interview, a paid entrance assessment, or both. Paid entrance assessments are compulsory for Grade 9 and above. Application Outcome: Successful applicants will receive a Letter of Offer or Letter of Conditional Offer and should proceed to pay the non-refundable confirmation fee of $763 (including 9% GST) to accept the offer. Unsuccessful applicants will receive a letter notifying parents of the application result. Letter of Offer indicates joining Middleton on the specified commencement date. Letter of Conditional Offer may include conditions such as English as an additional language or learning support (both payable at an additional cost). Some conditional offers may include specific monitoring of the student and will be reviewed after a period of time. Student Pass and Singapore Citizen/MOE ICA steps follow after acceptance: Student Pass applications require ICA Solar+ registration and a parent-completed Solar+ application in the ICA portal, with ICA clarifications/outcomes communicated to parents and a valid Student Pass submitted before commencement. Singapore Citizen applications require birth certificate and all previous school reports, a letter of request for Foreign System School, Middleton's submission to MOE, and payment of the final confirmation fee upon a successful MOE outcome. Waitlist

Waitlist Applications: Enrolments are open all year round. If your child has been accepted but there is no immediate availability, your child will be placed on the waitlist. The school will reach out to the parent when a place is available. If a parent withdraws from the waitlist before a place is offered or declines the offer, the application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. If no place is offered within 2 years, the application is considered unsuccessful. Unsuccessful applicants may re-apply by submitting a fresh application. If a child enrolls at Middleton at a later date after declining the initial offer, a new application and non-refundable administrative fee are required. There is a 30% nationality cap at the Tampines campus; if the quota is reached, applications can only be submitted when the waitlist is open. Priority Placement Rights provide waitlist prioritisation subject to admission requirements and entrance criteria. A PPR ranks the child ahead of all other applicants on the waitlist (except staff children). PPR costs S$50,000 or S$80,000 (excluding GST) and can be purchased by any individual or corporation, with invoicing issued within 14 days of purchase and payment due within 30 days.
