Fees
Application fees

- There is no application fee charged by the school for admission to its state-funded general education programmes.

Tuition fees (by year group / programme)

- There is no tuition charged for attendance in the school's state/municipal general education programmes (primary and secondary). General education is provided without tuition charges.

School meals (costs, per-day rates and who pays)

- 1st–4th grades: meals are funded from state/municipal budgets and pupils do not pay for school meals.
- 5th–12th grades: if a pupil's registered place of residence is in Rīga, the municipality covers the meal cost (0.00 EUR per day). If the pupil is not registered in Rīga, the parental contribution is EUR 1.47 per day.
- Preschool-age provision (where applicable): if residence is registered in Rīga, the meal cost is covered; if not registered in Rīga, the parental contribution is EUR 2.15 per day.

Billing schedule and payment terms for meals and related procedures

- Meal payments are handled through the Mobilly mobile application. Families add funds to a Mobilly wallet and assign a child to the launags (meal) service in the app; the school begins processing payments in Mobilly from 19 January 2026 under the current procedure. Parents must keep enough balance in Mobilly for at least one meal. Cancellation of a meal for a given day must be made in Mobilly no later than 09:00 that day; cancellation after 09:00 will not prevent the meal being prepared and the charge being applied. Unused funds paid under the previous payment arrangement and not consumed by 18 January 2026 are refundable on request; refund requests are handled by e‑mail to the meal-provider accounting address indicated by the school.

Boarding / residential provision

- The school does not operate an internat/boarding facility; there are no boarding fees because the institution does not provide residential accommodation services. Rules for visitors and the presence of parents/other persons on site reflect the school's day‑school operation.

Uniforms and clothing costs

- A school uniform is required for pupils in grades 1–12. Uniforms are ordered through the official e-shop noted by the school (FORMATEV), and orders must be paid at the time the order is placed; the school publishes ordering windows and delivery deadlines for the uniform supplier each year. Parents may also have uniform garments made to the school's approved models and colours by an independent tailor, but the supplier e‑shop is the standard channel for ordering. Expect to pay the supplier's retail price for garments (prices set by the supplier).

Other costs and optional fees

- Extracurricular activities, preparatory classes or specific optional programmes organised by external providers or by the parent association may require separate participation fees; such charges are set by the organising body (for example, parent associations or external activity providers) and are billed separately from the school's state-funded provision. The school has an active parent association for school development which operates its own bank account for payments.
- School trips, subject-specific examination fees (where applicable) and replacement/compensation charges for lost or damaged school property may generate additional costs charged to parents; such costs are specified by the school or event organiser when applicable.

Refunds and cancellations (where applicable)

- Meal-system refunds: funds already paid under the previous meal-payment system that remain unused after the migration to Mobilly are refundable on request; the meal-provider accounting contact is used to request refunds. Meal cancellations must be submitted in Mobilly by 09:00 on the day in question to avoid being charged for that day's meal.
- Refunds for other optional paid activities or services (extracurriculars, association-organised programmes) follow the payment and refund terms established by the activity organiser or parent association; those terms are set by the organiser and will be communicated at registration.

Fee payment options

- School meals: payment is processed via the Mobilly mobile application (Mobilly wallet top-up and assignment of the child to the meal service). Mobilly accepts the payment methods supported by the app. Cancellation and top-up rules apply as above.
- Uniforms: purchased and paid through the designated supplier e‑shop (payment methods per the supplier's e‑shop).
- Parent association and other voluntary payments: the parent association publishes bank account details for transfers and accepts payments by bank transfer to its account.

If you are compiling these items into a database: list tuition as “No tuition (state/municipal school)”, list meal charges per the daily rates above and mark uniforms and extracurriculars as separate payable items with supplier/organiser specified as "external supplier / parent association" where applicable.
Academics

Lycée Français de Riga teaches French Curriculum for students aged 6 to 18.

In the languages and humanities track, Latvian language and literature, French, English, history and social sciences are studied. Gifted and Talented

The plan includes a system for working with talented students. Talented students regularly achieve high results in Olympiads, competitions, and at city, national and international levels. It also aims to increase the number of high-achieving students and to provide more consultation time for talented students.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school is a municipal educational institution under the Riga City Council's Department of Education, Culture and Sports. The vision describes a competent student who, with joy and curiosity, deepens knowledge and understanding, strengthens skills, values and morals, and socially responsibly collaborates for the good of society and Latvia. The mission is the development of creative, responsible, and capable individuals in a supportive and initiative-friendly school environment. The values are traditions, collaboration, responsibility, self-initiative, creativity, and excellence. This framework underpins students' social and emotional development and civic engagement within the school community.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The program includes English language study as part of the language and humanities track and across tracks for the school's upper secondary program. The admissions document for 2025/2026 specifies in-depth study of Latvian language and literature, French language, English language, history, and social sciences in the language and humanities track; in the mathematics/science track, English language is included alongside physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics; and in the entrepreneurship and governance track, English is included with Latvian, French, history, social sciences, and mathematics.

Admissions

Admissions

1. Applications for grade 10 admission are open for the 2025/2026 academic year from June 25, 2025 to June 30, 2025 at 10:00. The admission is conducted by competition. This process applies to entering the general secondary education program in grade 10.

2. To apply for the grade 10 competition, the applicant's legal guardian must register the applicant in the Unified Admissions to Grade 10 e-service on latvija.gov.lv. The guardian completes the electronic registration and submits the required information. The system records the applicant's data for the competition. If the guardian cannot use the online service, there are on-site options at the Lyce.

3. The legal guardian may apply in person at the Lyce if no authentication methods are available. The registrar enters the information provided by the legal guardian into the electronic database and prints the completed application. The printed application is then handed to the legal guardian.

4. Participation in the competition involves informing applicants about personal data processing and the purposes for which personal data will be used, in accordance with external regulatory acts. The Lyce ensures that data processing complies with these rules. This information is provided to ensure transparency.

5. The admissions process for grade 10 is conducted by an admissions committee appointed by the Lyce's director. The committee provides information about the Lyce's program and the admissions procedures. It verifies candidate eligibility and creates the list of admitted candidates, marking those who pass as “Recommended for admission.” It prepares a protocol for the admission decision and collects the required documents, while ensuring the confidentiality of personal data.

6. Ranking for grade 10 admission is based on the total points from the primary education certificate, including the Latvian language, foreign language, and mathematics scores. Additional points from other subjects listed in the certificate may be considered. The total points determine the order of admission.

7. If several applicants have the same total points, priority is given to the candidate with the higher foreign language score on the primary education certificate. This tie-break rule ensures that stronger language performance is favored. The Lyce applies these rules when forming the grade 10 admission list.

8. The Lyce announces the contest results by posting the list of applicants on the Lyce's site from July 1, 2025 at 10:00 until July 4, 2025 at 10:00. Updated lists are posted on July 9, 2025 at 10:00 and July 14, 2025 at 10:00. Applicants can review their status during these periods.

9. After the results, document submission occurs in accordance with applicable regulations. Applicants provide the required documents to complete enrollment. The Lyce processes these documents in line with regulatory requirements.

10. If an applicant who did not participate in the Lyce's grade 10 competition applies after July 14, 2025, the Lyce registers the application in accordance with regulatory requirements. The application is evaluated according to the Lyce's admission criteria and placed on the ranking list based on the points obtained. The process follows the same evaluation standards as other applicants.

11. If documents are not submitted by the specified deadline, the place is offered to the next applicant. This ensures timely processing and fairness. The Lyce may reallocate the place to an alternative candidate as required by regulations.

12. Admission to the Lyce's grade 10 program is granted by the director's order after all required documents are submitted. The order finalizes enrollment for the student. The process completes once the student receives the director's order.
