European School of Varese is Italy’s only official European School, founded in 1960 and located at Via Montello 118 in Varese. It educates more than 1,300 students from nursery to secondary level, across five language sections. The school follows the European Schools curriculum, which includes two years of nursery, five years of primary education and seven years of secondary education, ending with the European Baccalaureate. Students can study several languages: Language 1 is linked to the language section, Language 2 starts in primary, and additional languages are introduced in secondary. The campus includes a canteen, library, computer rooms, science laboratories, study areas, infirmary, Great Hall, gyms, a 200-metre athletics track, football fields and basketball fields. A distinctive feature is its multilingual European model, where students study alongside peers from many nationalities and can progress through one continuous nursery-to-baccalaureate pathway.
