SIS Medan is part of the Singapore Intercultural School network in Medan, Indonesia. Founded in 2003, 1.2-hectare campus serves over 400 students from playgroup to senior level. The SIS Group, formerly Singapore International School, began in 1995 with its first building in North Jakarta and now operates seven campuses across Indonesia, including SIS Medan. The curriculum blends national and international standards: Preschool uses the Nurturing Early Learners Framework with Mandarin and Information Technology; Primary follows the Singaporean Curriculum with Life Skills, Knowledge Skills and Subject-Based Learning, including English, Mathematics and Science, plus Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia and ICT. Secondary combines Singaporean and Cambridge programmes, with Cambridge Check Point and IGCSE assessments. Junior College offers the IB Diploma Programme with Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and Creativity, Activity, Service. SIS Medan teaches Singapore Curriculum, Cambridge (Secondary), Cambridge IGCSE, IB (DP) for students aged 2 to 18.
Preschool uses the Nurturing Early Learners Framework with six learning areas, Information Technology and Mandarin. Primary follows the Singaporean Curriculum, organized around Life Skills, Knowledge Skills and Subject Based Learning, with core subjects English, Mathematics, Science and Chinese, and including Bahasa Indonesia, ICT, Social Studies, Physical Education, Health Education, Arts and Crafts, Music, PPKN and Religion. Secondary adopts both the Singaporean and Cambridge University programmes; international assessments include Cambridge Check Point and IGCSE. Junior College offers the IB Diploma Programme with five subject groups and core elements Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and Creativity, Activity, Service, preparing students for higher education. The curriculum integrates national and international standards to support student progression.
JC2 students participated in the national Tes Kompetensi Akademik (TKA) exam; results were described as admirable. Cambridge Check Point and IGCSE external assessments are part of SIS Medan's secondary programme.
The IB Diploma Programme prepares students for success in higher education and in a global society, with DP requirements including coursework, external examinations and core elements designed to prepare students for university study.

The school provides mental well-being support through a school counselor, Ms Jennifer. It operates Anti-Bullying Week to promote a safe and supportive environment. 1. School Inquiry / School Tour. The first step of the admissions process is to make an inquiry or schedule a school tour. This step initiates the placement process and provides an opportunity to learn about SIS Medan and its placement timeline. After this step, the process moves forward to document submission and subsequent steps. 2. Initial Document Submission & Processing Enrollment Form for the placement process. Documents required include a photocopy of the student's passport and two years of their academic transcript from their current school, if any. These documents are submitted and processed as part of the placement process. 3. Registration Fee. A registration fee is required as part of the placement process to proceed with enrollment. 4. Interview with Head Teacher / Deputy Head Teacher (for all levels). If the student and parents are located abroad, the interview will be conducted via Skype at Jakarta time; the school will notify the time and date. 5. Confirmation of Acceptance. The school provides confirmation of acceptance for eligible applicants. 6. School Fee Payment. The accepted student's family pays the school fees. 7. Uniform Purchase. Uniforms are purchased as part of preparing for enrollment.
The SIS Medan Scholarship Application Form is the first step in applying for a scholarship, enrollment or other discounts at SIS. After submitting this form, eligibility is assessed and a scholarship test is held at the SIS Medan campus in Medan, covering English and Math as well as other cognitive skills, lasting about 3.5 hours. Applicants also complete an English essay and participate in an interview with a school leader. Applications are evaluated in the order received, and only a limited number of scholarships are available for the next Academic Year; no further applications will be accepted once all scholarships have been offered.
