Manado Independent School (MIS), formerly Manado International School, is a private Christian international school serving Early Childhood through High in Kolongan, Minahasa, near Manado, Indonesia. It is the first and only Sulawesi international school licensed for all levels under SPK system. MIS is affiliated with Cambridge Assessment International Education and Oxford, and earned ASIC Premier Institution status in 2024, with BAN-S/M 'A' rating for all sections. The Elementary curriculum blends Oxford ESL with a Cambridge Minor program; Cambridge English and Cambridge Math are part of the Cambridge Subject Group for Grades 1–6, while Grades 1–4 do not require Cambridge. Grade 1–3: Monday–Wednesday 8:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.; Thursday–Friday 8:00 A.M. – 1:45 P.M. Grade 4–6: Monday–Wednesday 8:00 A.M. – 4:10 P.M.; Thursday–Friday 8:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M. Everyday, a devotional is held in each homeroom and the day ends with a prayer.
Transportation: The school provides buses and cars to pick up and drop off students, teachers and staff. Pickups occur at assigned points and buses depart on schedule. If a student is left behind, there may be another MIS bus with available seats. Students must follow bus rules and seating arrangements.
Manado Independent School teaches Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge A Levels, American Curriculum, Bespoke Curriculum, Indian Curriculum for students aged 3 to 18.
The school offers Elementary School for Grades 1–6. The curriculum combines Oxford + English as a Second Language (ESL) with a Cambridge-based Minor program. The Cambridge Subject Group includes Cambridge English and Cambridge Math for Grades 1–6.
