The Royal College International School in New Cairo is part of the Al-Hussan Education & Training network, welcoming students from Early Years Foundations to College. The school offers Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels, Cambridge A Levels, the American Curriculum, and IB Diploma Programme, providing pathways for learners. Arabic is compulsory from KG I to Grade 12, while French and German are optional from KG2 to Grade 12. The Royal College International School follows an international standard and style of education with a rigorous curriculum aimed at academic success. The curriculum includes English Language, Arabic, French, Urdu, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Studies, Information Technology, Science, Accounting and Business Studies/Economics; Physical Education, Islamic Education, Art and Library are also taught. Arabic is compulsory from KG I through Grade 12, while French and German are optional for KG2 to Grade 12. In Grades 9-12, students follow a high diploma track according to the chosen program and its requirements, with English, Mathematics, Arabic, a foreign language (French/German), Religion, Music, Art and Physical Education listed among core subjects. Continuous assessments account for 70% of the final grade and final exams account for 30%; report cards are issued at the end of each term. The school provides safeguarding through a safe, stimulating, and multicultural environment. Emergencies are referred to appropriate clinics or hospitals as needed and parents are notified; bullying is a major misdemeanor; medications given at school must be properly labeled with the student's name, dosage and time, and accompanied by a note from the parents.
1. Submit the application. The school accepts applications for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6 for entry into the 2018-2019 school year. An online admission form is available; applicants provide child's name, nationality, date of birth, gender, place of birth, residence number, mobile number, address, email, grade, and language(s) commonly spoken at home. The application is considered complete when all required documents are provided.
2. Review and assessment. Admission is finalized upon receipt of all relevant documents and forms. When documents meet the school's criteria, the student is invited with a parent for an interview and assessment test. The interview and assessment determine suitability for the program.
3. Fees and inclusions. An opening discount of 35% is applied to school fees for a limited number of students. The base school fees include books and two sets of uniform (winter and summer). There is no application fee or interview fee.
4. Required documents. The required documents include the completed application form and eight recent colored passport-size photographs. A copy of the original birth certificate is required. A copy of identification for both parents and the original transcript of the past two years from the previous school (where applicable) are needed. Health and vaccination records and copies of parents' educational certificates are also required.
