Introduction

The Lycée Français d'Alexandrie is a French international school in Chatby, Alexandria, run by Mission Laïque Française (MLF Monde) and affiliated with AEFE. It follows a French homologated curriculum with French as the base language and hosts an American International Section that is bilingual and bicultural through cooperation with the United States. The American section adds English language and American culture components, while the standard timetable is 30 hours weekly for sixth grade; the section includes American language and literature, with total English and Arabic instruction of six hours. Examinations for the Diplôme National du Brevet and the Baccalauréat include components linked to the American program, and the International Section leads to a diploma with the American option recognized in Anglo-Saxon higher education. Entry to the International Section is decided by an eligibility commission. - The Lycée Français d'Alexandrie issues a detailed fee schedule that lists tuition by level (maternelle, élémentaire, collège, lycée) and by payment period (term or annual). Billing schedule and payment terms
- The school issues an invoice showing required payment dates and acceptable payment plans (for example, single annual payment or split payments by trimester/term). Exact billing dates, late‑payment penalties, and any available installment plans are specified on the school's official fee schedule and in the school's financial regulations; these will be provided when you request the fee schedule from the school's accounting office.

Boarding fees (if applicable)

Academics

Lycée Français d'Alexandrie teaches French Curriculum.

Curriculum

The Lycée Français d'Alexandrie offers a French-homologated curriculum with French as the base language of instruction. It is a bilingual and bicultural program created through bilateral cooperation with the United States, known as the American International Section. In addition to standard disciplines, there is a substantial English-language component (3–4 hours per week) plus courses on American culture and history (1.5–2 hours). The standard timetable is 30 hours per week in sixth grade, and in the American Section an additional 3–4 hours per week of American language and literature are added over 36 weeks; English and Arabic language instruction total 6 hours in the standard timetable. Examinations for the Diplôme National du Brevet and the Baccalauréat include specific components linked to the American program, and the International Section leads to a diploma with the American option that is recognized in Anglo-Saxon higher education. An eligibility commission validates entry into the International Section and meets at the end of each school year to decide continuation.

Higher Education Progression
