Newington College is an independent Uniting Church school in Sydney, Australia, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP) alongside the Australian Curriculum. The college operates across two campuses, Stanmore and Lindfield, with a rural Eungai Creek campus for outdoor education and social service immersion. The Stanmore Senior Campus spans about 10 hectares and houses specialist facilities for Music, Drama, Visual Arts, Design and Technology, and Science, with extensive sporting facilities to support cricket, rugby, and football throughout the year. The Early Learning Centre provides three classrooms with qualified educators, and boarding is available across the college. Lindfield hosts the K–6 program. The school traces its origins to 1863 and has a long history of welcoming students from diverse religious backgrounds. Lindfield Prep day starts at 8:30am and finishes at 3:00pm for K–2 and 3:10pm for Years 3–6. The Stanmore Senior Campus offers extended study with a Year 12 Study Centre open daily from 7:30am to 7:00pm and an Extended Study Day program three evenings per week for Years 10–12.
Chartered bus services operate daily to Stanmore from the North Shore, Sutherland Shire, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West and Northern Beaches; Government bus routes connect Inner West corridors to Stanmore, including Wyvern House and the Senior Campus.

The school leads towards the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC), the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and a range of vocational pathways. Lindfield Preparatory School (K–6) follows the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) as part of IB World School status.
Teaching staff total 212; the College serves around 2,060 students across its campuses, giving an approximate student–teacher ratio of about 9–10 to 1.
In 2022, 78% of Year 12 completed the HSC and 22% completed the IBDP. The HSC cohort consisted of 167 students and the IBDP cohort consisted of 52 students. The IBDP mean score was 38/45, and two IB scholars achieved perfect scores.

The school has a structured wellbeing program based on the principles of ‘How to Live Well', tailored to each campus and integrated with the Learning and Teaching framework. The program emphasizes good mental health, self-care, resilience, empathy and service. The Buddy System pairs Kindergarten and Year 1 with older students in Year 5 and 6 to build social connections. Second Step supports social and emotional development for younger children, with units on Skills for Learning, Empathy, Emotion Management and Friendship Skills; our counsellors (educational psychologists) support wellbeing with individual and group counselling, psycho-educational assessment and anti-bullying monitoring.
The Inclusive Learning Department is a highly skilled team that supports students with disabilities, those who are neurodiverse, and students who are gifted or twice exceptional. They identify needs collaboratively and develop inclusive educational practices. The High Potential Academic Program operates across Year 7–10; Support Based Learning (SBL) provides literacy and numeracy remediation for Year 7–12; Newington is non-selective but differentiates instruction to challenge exceptional talents.
Wellbeing is a priority, with a structured program to promote good mental health and wellbeing and to equip students with lifelong tools for mental and emotional flexibility and endurance. It teaches students to know and care for themselves and others, to have honest conversations about mental and emotional health, and to develop empathy, resilience and a sense of belonging within the community. The program also reflects the school's multi-faith context and pastoral support.
Newington College is a child safe organisation committed to safeguarding. 1. Registration is the first step in the enrolment process. Applications are accepted at any time from birth, and families are encouraged to apply early due to demand. Co-education is being introduced; from 2026 girls are being admitted to Kindergarten and Year 5 at Lindfield and Stanmore Wyvern, and from 2028 to Year 7 and Year 11 at the Stanmore Senior campus. 2. If a place is not immediately available, a waitlist is used; submitting an online application starts the waitlist process. The first application requires a non-refundable AUD 350 per child fee. 3. The Admissions Process comprises Application for Enrolment, Admissions Activities, Offer of Place or Waitlist, and Acceptance. Applications are online; Admissions Activities occur pending place availability; enrolment interviews are an important component and not all applicants can be interviewed. 4. Offers of enrolment or waitlist status are communicated in writing after an interview. 5. Acceptance requires reading and accepting the Conditions of Enrolment, signing the Enrolment Agreement, and paying the Enrolment Fee. Enrolment Fees vary by entry level: for the ELC, AUD 2,000 (refundable and transferable); for Kindergarten, Year 5 and Year 7, AUD 5,000 (non-refundable and non-transferable). 6. Entry levels include the ELC 3- and 4-year-old programs; Kindergarten and Year 5 at Wyvern or Lindfield; Year 7 at Stanmore Senior Campus. The ELC and Preparatory campuses provide continuing enrolment pathways, subject to an admissions interview with senior staff.
Newington offers a range of scholarships to students from all backgrounds who can benefit from a Newington education. Scholarship applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents. The scholarship process may involve testing and consideration of test results together with submitted documentation or portfolio; if shortlisted for an interview, two referees may be requested.
